Our afternoon trip took us back out to where we had seen Minke Whales in the morning. Just like our morning tour, the ocean was glassy flat and we could see the seabirds working the schools of small fishes from several miles away. The Captain turned off the engines and we allowed Marauder IV to drift beside the bait ball. We were rewarded when a Minke Whale began lunge feeding on the surface. The whale in the photo is on his right side and the skin on the bottom jaw is fully expanded to take in all the fish it can capture!
