Although J Pod visited us earlier this week they were without J8 Speiden.
J8, a female Killer Whale, was estimated to have been born in 1933. She is the second oldest Orca in the Southern Resident Community (after Granny, born approx 1911)… According to Orca Network she hasn’t been seen since Sept 19th and is presumed dead…. Very sad news and all we can do is hope we do not lose anymore Southern Resident Killer Whales this year or next!!!
