Our 10 a.m. trip brought us in contact with all the 39 members of L-pod – one of our 3 resident Orca families.  A lot of activity observed with one of the highlights being a breach by one of the juveniles while one of the adults was doing a tail-stand. 2 p.m. and Marauder IV is back with the Orcas of L-pod.  Most of the resident Orcas in this family were engaged in fishing along the shore line.  A small group of females were traveling together to teach the juveniles how to hunt but I suspect that the calf surfacing in the picture just behind its mother was being kept out of the hunt so that it did not spook the salmon.
