The day after Christmas, Northwest Fisheries Science Center researchers successfully tagged Southern Resident killer whale L87, an adult male that is commonly sighted with J pod. The data we learn from this satellite tagging project will help us learn more about where pods go in the winter and what habitat is important for their recovery.
