L72 nicknamed RACER is easily identified by the reversed C mark on her saddle patch (the grey area behind her dorsal fin). Born in 1986 RACER is the mother of FLUKE (L-105). It was nice to see the kayakers staying a respectful distance away from the Orcas. All boaters are reminded that Orcas are listed as endangered species in both Canada and the United States. By law, all boaters are required to maintain a minimum distance from the animals (100 meters in Canada and 200 yards in the U.S.)
